The oxidative anti-Markovnikov amination of styrenes catalyzed by cationic rhodium complexes provides a new access to enamines. As catalyst precursors [Rh(cod)(amine)(2)](+) complexes have been identified and characterized for the first time by X-ray crystallography and NMR.
